Book Review: Beautiful Mess: The Story of Diamond Rio

My Review: 3 out of 5 stars

Can a band comprised of six very talented but very different musicians make a difference with their music?

Diamond Rio is a country music band composed of Marty Roe, Dan Truman, Jimmy Olander, Brian Prout, Gene Johnson, and Dana Williams who got their start at Opryland in Tennessee.

Beautiful Mess is a book about how these 6 men came together and formed a band. It talks about their accomplishments and near fall. Each member is featured in their own chapter portraying their personal and professional life story.

It's amazing that this group remained the original 6 for over 20 year. They never got affected by the cutthroat competition of the showbiz and steered clear of drugs and alcohol. This book also enhances on their involvement with Big Brother/Sister and other organizations that gave back to the community.

While I am not a big Diamond Rio fan, meaning I know who they are but I couldn't tell you the name of any of their songs, I still found this book interesting. I also think this would be a good book for anyone interested in the Music business.

Once again I will be offering up this book for a giveaway. You don't have to do anything special....just leave a comment on this post for your chance to win. I'll announce a winner in a few days!
