This month I decided to use OPK's to help pin point ovulation. I'm hoping that it will actually show me if I ovulate while I'm waiting on Day 21 to have my blood work done. When I was temping it showed I had a normal cycle and ovulated on days 14 or 16 depending on the month. Also I had other ovulation symptoms so we always thought I was ovulating. But then my Day 21 level showed my progesterone was low meaning I wasn't ovulating. So I now know that those ways of prediciting ovulation aren't completely accurate, as your body can do an ovulation cycle but not produce an egg. So I'm wondering if the same is true for OPK's. I'm hoping that since OPK's use the LH hormones that mine won't "surge" if I don't ovulate, just as my progesterone doesn't.
So this month I'm acting as a test subject and trying my theory out. Yesterday was cycle day 12 and the 1st day of OPK testing...it was negative {-}.

I'm glad you are doing both! I know charting can really help using the OPK at the correct time.
So, is it possible that you are ovulating, but that by day 21 of your cycle, your hormones aren't sustained? That would be a whole different problem than not ovulating at all.
Well all of my other hormone levels are in the normal range, so that is why he is pretty sure I'm not ovulating at all since it is just my progesterone that was low. And if it were my hormones in general I would have had an imbalance else where as well. But I think I will ask him that question at my next appointment if the 150mg of Clomid doesn't up it.
Great question!
